Collinwood is assisting our client, a fast-growing manufacturer of highly engineered sensors and components for multiple industries, in their efforts to hire someone who wants to pursue a career as a Product Manager, We are seeking a hands-on, technically oriented Product Management Specialist to support the development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of temperature sensing products and related engineered solutions.

This role is designed for someone earlier in their product management career who wants to grow into a full Product Manager position over time. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, experience working closely with engineering and customers, and a desire to help drive product execution in a fast-moving industrial environment.

This is not a product marketing or project coordination role. The position works closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to support new product introduction (NPI), customer-facing product initiatives, and portfolio management activities.

This role is specifically designed for those with a "technical understanding" who want to transition into leadership or business strategy.
-- Translates Expertise into Influence: You move from building a component to deciding what gets built, using your engineering background to justify business decisions.
-- Exposure to P&L: Unlike pure engineering roles, you gain accountability for the strategic and commercial success (adoption, revenue, and margins) of your product line.
-- Skill Diversification: You will develop "soft" but critical skills such as stakeholder communication, pricing strategy, and go-to-market planning while remaining grounded in technical feasibility.

What you will be doing:

  • Support Product Managers in execution of product strategy, commercialization, and lifecycle activities

  • Work closely with Engineering on product development, specifications, testing, and technical documentation

  • Assist with new product introduction (NPI) initiatives and commercialization efforts

  • Help gather and translate customer and market requirements into product enhancements and development priorities

  • Collaborate with Sales and customers to support technical product positioning and application discussions

  • Support pricing analysis, competitive analysis, and portfolio optimization activities

  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain

  • Assist in managing product data, documentation, and internal product communication

What we need from you:

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical commercial role, such as:

    • Sales Engineering

    • Applications Engineering

    • Technical Program Coordination

    • Product Support Engineering

  • Experience working with engineered products, components, or industrial systems

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to work directly with engineering teams

  • Exposure to OEM customers and technical buying environments preferred

  • Experience supporting NPI or product commercialization activities preferred

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment

Other qualities that you should have:

  • Technically curious and eager to learn

  • Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally

  • Organized and execution-oriented

  • Interested in growing into a broader Product Management role over time

  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, commercially focused environment
