Job Description

We are looking for a Product Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to lead our HR & Payroll Compliance initiatives. This role requires expertise in payroll processing and multi-jurisdiction compliance, with a focus on integrating AI tools to enhance product development and compliance accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring deep domain expertise in payroll processing, wage and hour law, tax withholding, and multi-jurisdiction compliance (federal, state, and local).
  • Apply hands-on HR background across benefits administration, onboarding, time and attendance, and employee lifecycle management to ground product decisions in real practitioner workflows.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate requirements gathering by drafting specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria from stakeholder input, then refine them with domain judgment for compliance-sensitive accuracy.
  • Leverage AI for research by monitoring evolving regulations (FLSA, IRS/SSA reporting, ACA, garnishments, unemployment, state-specific mandates), synthesizing statutory changes, and surfacing their product impact quickly.
  • Integrate AI across the SDLC, from discovery and backlog grooming to spec writing, test-case generation, and release documentation, to increase velocity while preserving quality.
  • Serve as the subject-matter authority for engineering, QA, and support teams on payroll calculation logic, pay cycles, deductions, and year-end processing (W-2, 1099, quarterly filings).
  • Partner with government and public-sector clients to understand their unique payroll and HR compliance needs, including union rules, step/grade pay structures, and public retirement systems.
  • Apply AI-assisted analysis to customer feedback, support escalations, and usage data to identify patterns and prioritize the backlog against regulatory deadlines and technical feasibility.
  • Champion responsible, human-in-the-loop use of AI by validating AI-generated output for compliance-critical features where accuracy is non-negotiable.
  • Define and track success metrics tied to payroll accuracy, filing timeliness, reduction in compliance errors, and gains in delivery speed from AI adoption.

Requirements:

  • Strong domain expertise in payroll processing and HR compliance.
  • Experience with AI tools in product management.
  • Ability to synthesize regulatory changes and assess product impact.
  • Experience working with government or public-sector clients.
  • Proven track record of integrating AI in the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in wage and hour law, tax withholding, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in HR processes such as benefits administration and onboarding.
  • Strong analytical skills for AI-assisted research and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with payroll calculation logic and year-end processing.
  • Familiarity with public retirement systems and union rules.
  • Knowledge of AI validation techniques for compliance-critical features.
