Title: Product Manager
Location:  Creve Coeur, MO (Remote)
Duration: 6 Months

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Strategy
:
Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for internal services, such as account hierarchy infrastructure.
Operate with an ownership mindset — take initiative, make decisions, and drive outcomes without waiting for direction
Shape the multi-PI direction of owned platforms, balancing new capability development, technical debt reduction, and adoption
Monitor relevant technical trends and emerging technologies to inform product vision and collaboration
Build and communicate a compelling narrative for platform investments to leadership and stakeholders
SAFe Planning & Backlog Management:
Author high-quality Features and User Stories with quantified problem statements, measurable outcomes, clear scope boundaries, testable acceptance criteria, identified dependencies, and mitigations.
Lead Feature and Story decomposition — breaking platform capabilities into well-scoped, ready-to-execute work that is prioritized using frameworks such as ICE (Impact, Confidence, Ease).
Own execution readiness: drive PI Planning preparation; maintain a healthy team backlog with clear prioritization, resolved dependencies, and well-refined and sequenced work prior to sprint execution.
Architecture Alignment & Technical Design:
Partner with architects and senior engineers on technical design reviews
Reduce the cognitive and coordination load on senior engineers by driving clarity on requirements, trade-offs, and cross-team dependencies
Understand and contribute to discussions on authentication protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML), authorization models (RBAC, ABAC), and security patterns
Ensure technical decisions are well-documented and aligned with enterprise architecture, security requirements, and compliance standards
Stakeholder Management & Cross-ART Coordination:
Serve as the primary point of contact for owned platform capabilities across all 7 ARTs
Communicate platform capabilities, changes, and migration paths
Facilitate the creation and maintenance of product documentation, including platform vision, capability guardrails, and onboarding guides
Engage credibly with Enterprise Architects, Security teams, and engineering leadership
Drive consuming teams to execution, identifying and resolving blockers to their adoption, and holding teams accountable to committed timelines
Developer Experience & Adoption:
Drive adoption of platform capabilities across the organization
Measure and improve the developer experience for teams integrating with your platforms
Track adoption metrics, usage patterns, and customer satisfaction
Identify and remove friction points in platform consumption
Metrics & Continuous Improvement:
Define and track success metrics for identity and access platforms (adoption rate*** integration time, incident rates, developer satisfaction)
Contribute to operational visibility through dashboards and data-driven decision-making
Participate in business reviews and roadmap readouts with leadership

Qualifications:
Required:

5 years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, or equivalent role in software/platform engineering
Demonstrated experience owning and driving strategy for internal platform products or shared services
Strong technical fluency in identity and access management concepts (authentication, authorization, SSO, OIDC/OAuth, RBAC/ABAC) or comparable platform domains
Comfortable reading and reasoning about code — able to review pull requests, understand system behavior from source, and engage in technical discussions grounded in implementation detail
Proven ability to write high-quality product artifacts — Features, User Stories, acceptance criteria (GIVEN/WHEN/THEN), and technical requirements
Experience with Agile backlog management tools (Azure DevOps preferred; Jira, Rally, or equivalent acceptable)
Ability to engage in architectural discussions and reduce the coordination burden on senior engineers
Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Self-starter with a track record of taking initiative and driving outcomes in ambiguous environments

Preferred:
Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) — PI Planning, ART ceremonies, Feature/Story decomposition
Background in cloud-native platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure-as-code
Experience with identity providers and access management systems (Okta, Auth0, AWS IAM, Azure AD, Keycloak, etc.)
Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, data governance)
Experience building platform adoption strategies — go-to-market for internal tools, developer onboarding, migration playbooks
Proficiency with GenAI tools and AI-assisted workflows (GitHub Copilot, AI agents, prompt engineering) for accelerating product management work
Experience with Datadog, observability platforms, or data-driven engineering practices
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field required
• Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or equivalent experience preferred

Skills / Behavioral Characteristics:
Thinks and acts like a platform owner — proactively identifies problems, proposes solutions, and drives execution
Comfortable making trade-off decisions and defending them to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Can participate meaningfully in architecture and design discussions without relying on engineers to translate
Articulates platform value and technical concepts clearly to audiences ranging from junior developers to enterprise architects
Delivers on commitments — PI plans, roadmap milestones, stakeholder promises; brings structure to ambiguity
Works effectively across organizational boundaries in a organizational model where empowered teams drive decisions
