Product Manager

Purpose of the Job

The Product Manager is the internal architect of Coptic Orphans' donor-facing giving products - responsible for developing new initiatives and continuously enhancing existing ones to ensure every giving experience is meaningful, donor-centered, and mission-aligned. Reporting directly to the Development & Marketing Director, this role leads the full product lifecycle from research and concept through design, cross-departmental coordination, launch, and post-launch evaluation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Research, Benchmarking & Donor Insights

  • Conduct ongoing research into donor behavior, giving motivations, and emerging trends in nonprofit fundraising to identify opportunities for new product development and giving initiatives.
  • Benchmark Coptic Orphans' giving products against peer and sister organizations, identifying best practices and gaps that can inform the design and packaging of new fundraising initiatives.
  • Design and facilitate focus groups, surveys, and feedback sessions with donors, Donor Relations staff, and Church Representatives to gather insights that shape new product concepts and refine existing offerings.

Product Development & Design

  • Lead the ideation, design, and development of new donor-facing fundraising products and giving initiatives - defining end-to-end workflows, mapping stakeholder responsibilities across Marketing, Donor Relations, IT, and Sponsorship, and producing compelling product proposals for review and approval by the Development & Marketing Director.
  • Regularly assess the performance and donor experience of existing giving products, identifying gaps, friction points, and opportunities for improvement, and leading the redesign or enhancement of current offerings to keep them relevant, competitive, and aligned with donor expectations.
  • For each product, map the complete donor journey - from first awareness through giving, acknowledgment, fulfillment, and stewardship - ensuring the experience is seamless, emotionally resonant, and consistent with Coptic Orphans' brand values.

Cross-Departmental Coordination

  • Serve as the primary coordinator across Marketing, Donor Relations, IT, and Sponsorship for all product development initiatives - issuing structured briefs to each team, facilitating alignment meetings, tracking progress against milestones, and proactively resolving bottlenecks to keep each product on schedule.

Data, Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Design and deliver training sessions for the Donor Relations team ahead of each product launch, equipping staff with the product knowledge, talking points, and promotional tools they need to confidently present and promote new giving initiatives to donors.
  • Establish clear success metrics for each product pre-launch and conduct structured post-launch evaluations tracking donor uptake, engagement rates, and giving patterns to assess product effectiveness and identify adjustments needed to optimize performance and donor experience.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that tracks the pipeline of new initiatives, their development status, launch timelines, and post-launch performance, reporting regularly to the Development & Marketing Director.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience in product development, donor engagement, fundraising, or marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization. A Master's degree in a relevant field may substitute for up to 2 years of professional experience.
  • Proven ability to design and manage end-to-end product or initiative workflows, with experience in mapping processes, identifying stakeholders, and driving cross-functional coordination to successful launch.
  • Strong understanding of donor behavior, giving motivations, and nonprofit fundraising dynamics, with the ability to translate these insights into compelling product concepts and donor journey designs.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple product development streams simultaneously, track milestones, and communicate progress clearly to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret donor feedback and performance data to inform product improvements.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and donor engagement platforms is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Proficiency in Arabic is required, given the need to engage with field staff and beneficiary materials relevant to Coptic Orphans' work.
  • Knowledge of Coptic Culture is required
