Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Product Manager - Industrial to own the Industrial product portfolio and product roadmap for the North American market. This position combines product management, technical product expertise, customer engagement, market research, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Product Manager will manage products throughout their full lifecycle, from market research and business case development through product launch, commercialization, performance tracking, and discontinuation. This individual will also serve as a technical resource for sales, engineering, customer service, marketing, and customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial electrical products, electro-mechanical assemblies, wiring devices, electrical components, or UL 508A panel shop environments.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management & Lifecycle
Own the Industrial product roadmap and new product pipeline.
Manage products through the full lifecycle, including market research, business case development, requirements, launch, commercialization, performance tracking, and discontinuation.
Gather voice-of-customer, market, and competitive intelligence to prioritize product development.
Evaluate opportunities based on feasibility, profitability, customer needs, and strategic fit.
Support product positioning, pricing strategy, and go-to-market planning.
Technical Product Expertise
Serve as a subject matter expert for the Industrial product portfolio.
Provide technical guidance and application support to sales, customer service, marketing, engineering, and customers.
Develop and maintain product documentation, specifications, training materials, and competitive comparisons.
Provide technical support during customer visits, trade shows, training sessions, and key account meetings.
Translate technical product and application information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Compliance & Electrical Standards
Serve as a primary North American contact for product compliance agencies, particularly UL.
Work with engineering, quality, and global technical teams to ensure products meet applicable North American standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and compliance requirements.
Support product testing, validation, certification, and compliance activities.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
Collaborate with international technical teams on product development, technical requirements, product modifications, and North American market localization.
Work with engineering on product design, testing, validation, and problem resolution.
Partner with operations, purchasing, and supply chain teams to support product availability, cost targets, and launch readiness.
Coordinate with sales and marketing teams on product launches and ongoing commercial support.
Customer & Market Engagement
Visit customers, distributors, end users, and industry partners to conduct market research and gather product feedback.
Identify real-world application requirements and customer pain points.
Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and technical discussions.
Travel domestically and internationally as required, including occasional international travel.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, Product Management, or a related technical field.
2-4+ years of experience in product management, technical sales, engineering, or a related role involving industrial, electrical, manufacturing, or technical products.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand electrical and industrial product applications.
Strong project management, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams without direct authority.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new software systems.
Willingness to travel for customer, industry, and international team engagement.

Four Key Requirements
2-4+ years of relevant experience in product management, technical sales, engineering, applications engineering, or a similar technical role involving industrial, electrical, manufacturing, or technical products.
Experience with industrial electrical products or related equipment, preferably including UL 508A panel shops, electro-mechanical assemblies, wiring devices, electrical components, connectors, plugs, receptacles, or power distribution.
Strong technical and customer-facing capabilities, including the ability to understand product applications, support sales and engineering teams, communicate technical information, and interact directly with customers and distributors.
Ability to work fully on-site in Fairfield, NJ and travel as needed, including domestic customer travel and occasional international travel.
