The Product Manager is part of the Product Management team responsible for product management within the Core Check Program. The position is responsible for managing, overseeing and coordinating new product/program introductions, as well as ongoing improvements to existing products, based on the product development strategy set by the product director. The PDM acts as the product development consultant across other PLs, and keeps abreast of new and emerging trends in the market. Further, the position informs the strategy regarding product options across the portfolio, makes recommendations and gains buy-in. The overarching objective of the role is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the core check product line and overall program enhancement.
Accountabilities:
Partner with Research to validate assumptions and recommendations.
Analyze competitive products, features, mix and development strategies, and stay on top of product market trends.
Identify key findings and make recommendations to Product Directors for consideration in future planning.
Monitor product development roadmap; provide visibility to different functional areas to define scope of product development and resource requirements.
Serve as liaison with key stakeholder groups across the company to move product development initiatives forward. Responsible for coordinating project teams of functional experts to accomplish project goals.
Submit and monitor product enhancements and recommendations
Identify budget and schedule variances, and develop and implement corrective actions for negative variances.
Manage and coordinate the transfer of product specifications and data to downstream functions to allow successful system set-up and acceptance testing.
Partner with strategic sourcing to ensure sourced products/designs meet the established specifications, and 3rd party requirements.
Partner with appropriate resources to model scenarios and financial implications of proposed solutions.
Provide insight into distribution and pricing strategies across distribution channels.
