Job Summary:
We are seeking a Product Definition & Documentation Manager (Manufacturing) to drive consistent, clear communication across our engineering, production, sales, and marketing teams.
This role will serve as the centralized owner of product documentation, ensuring that every Noovo van is clearly defined, accurately documented, and easily understood across the organization.
You will work directly with engineering, production teams, and 3D CAD data (Onshape) to translate complex product information into clear, structured, and actionable documentation for both internal teams and customers.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role with strong cross-functional exposure and a clear path toward broader product or manufacturing ownership over time.
Responsibilities:
Technical Documentation Creation:
- Develop and maintain clear, structured documentation including:
- Product measurements and technical specifications
- Key features and product functionality
- Assembly instructions
- Installation guidelines
- Component preparation requirements
- Ensure documentation reflects actual production execution and is continuously updated.
- 3D Model Analysis & Data Extraction
- Work with engineering and Onshape CAD models to:
- Extract measurements and specifications
- Understand product functionality and design intent
- Translate technical data into usable documentation
- Product Definition Support
- Support the definition and clarification of product configurations and features
- Ensure alignment between:
- Engineering designs
- Production execution
- Customer-facing materials
- Serve as a reference point for product-related information across teams.
Documentation & Revision Control:
- Manage updates and revisions of internal and external documentation
- Maintain structured version control of documentation
- Support documentation updates within the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process in collaboration with Engineering
- ERP & BOM Alignment
- Ensure documentation aligns with BOM structures and Work Orders in Odoo
- Partner with inventory and production teams to maintain consistency between documentation and actual builds
- Cross-Team Content Development
Adapt documentation for different audiences:
- Production teams: step-by-step build and installation instructions
- Engineering: structured technical documentation
- Sales: clear specifications and product positioning
- Marketing: simplified, value-driven content
- Customers: owner manuals and layout-specific guidance
- Visual & Instructional Content
- Create annotated visuals from 3D models
- Develop diagrams, exploded views, and step-by-step guides
- Ensure documentation is intuitive, visual-first, and easy to follow
- Vendor Documentation Management
- Compile and organize manuals and technical documentation from suppliers
- Ensure alignment with Noovo product configurations
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production, engineering, sales, and marketing teams
- Validate documentation accuracy and usability with end users
- Continuously improve clarity, usability, and standardization
- Success Metrics (KPIs)
Reduction in:
- Production clarification requests
- Build errors related to unclear instructions
- Improvement in:
- Documentation adoption by production teams
- Technician onboarding efficiency
- Documentation quality:
- Accuracy and version consistency
- Ease of use and clarity
Qualifications:
- 3–6+ years of experience in technical documentation, product design, or manufacturing environment
- Experience working with CAD software (Onshape, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience creating assembly or installation guides
- Experience in cabinetry, RV, automotive, or manufacturing environments
- Experience with visual documentation tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Odoo or similar)
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Compensation:
Base salary: $85,000 – $100,000, depending on experience
