Job Summary
Client is seeking an experienced Product Manager - Battery Customer Strategy Lead to support an innovative battery energy storage venture. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with BESS, DERs, customer discovery, utility markets, and battery-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct customer and market discovery interviews.
- Identify customer needs, pain points, and market opportunities.
- Develop and refine battery product/program concepts.
- Analyze battery economics, performance, and value-stacking opportunities.
- Evaluate DER, VPP, CAISO, and resource adequacy opportunities.
- Support business cases, commercialization strategies, and executive presentations.
- Work effectively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in BESS, DERs, distributed grid solutions, or energy markets.
- Experience with customer-sited/distributed battery solutions.
- Strong understanding of battery economics, value stacking, and deployment models.
- Experience with utilities, energy developers, aggregators, or DER providers.
- Customer discovery, market research, or product strategy experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred
- California energy market/CAISO experience.
- Knowledge of VPP, demand response, and resource adequacy programs.
- Experience with commercial/industrial energy customers.
- Background in product management, consulting, startups, or innovation programs.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $126.00 per hour.
