  • We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager with 5+ years of experience to build our product marketing function from the ground up and establish Basis as the definitive brand for AI in accounting. You'll be joining at a pivotal moment - we just raised a $100M Series B, have no pure-play competitors, and are scaling rapidly from 140 to 200+ people by year-end. This is a net new role and one of the top four priority hires across the company. We need someone who has taken a product people didn't know about and created a compelling narrative that drove real adoption - think the first PMM at Ramp or Notion when they were just getting started.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong startup experience with the ability to operate in ambiguous environments; experience in big companies is a plus if complemented by startup experience.
  • Preferred background in fintech and B2B SaaS; familiarity with technical products is advantageous.

Seniority

5 - 8 years of experience in B2B SaaS product marketing, ideally fintech or accounting

Work experience

  • Built PMM function 0- to- 1 at a startup (not just maintained existing motions)
  • Experience at a high- growth startup
  • Fintech, accounting, or ERP product marketing experience

Education

  • Strong educational background (top- tier university or MBA)

Hard skills

  • Product positioning for complex technical products to enterprise buyers

Miscellaneous

  • Must work in- person 5 days/week in NYC Flatiron office

Interview process

  • Recruiter Screen (30 minutes)
  • Initial Screen (45 minutes)- Deeper conversation with the Head of Go-to-Market to evaluate product marketing expertise, B2B SaaS experience, and strategic thinking around positioning and sales enablement.
  • On-site (60 minutes):: Candidates receive a case study in advance and present it on-site to members of the team. Evaluates strategic thinking, storytelling ability, positioning skills, and ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives. Meetings with cross-functional partners during the on-site to assess collaboration skills and ability to work across product, sales, and marketing teams.
