Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Product Owner position! This is a 12+ month contract-to-hire opportunity and will be hybrid in Charlotte, NC. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead product backlog ownership for Route and Territory Optimization initiatives, translating operational workflows and business requirements into scalable system capabilities, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications including process flows, data mappings, and API contracts
Drive cross-functional alignment by serving as the primary liaison between engineering teams, operations stakeholders, SaaS partners, and leadershipmanaging dependencies, communicating progress, and facilitating decisions across complex business environments
Collaborate with Product Management to shape product strategy and roadmap priorities, ensuring backlog work supports measurable business outcomes such as route efficiency, mileage reduction, service performance, and scalable field execution
Define and prioritize requirements for territory design, route planning, route execution, and exception handling capabilities that enable optimized decision-support and operational effectiveness
Own quality and operational readiness by defining testing strategies (functional and integration), coordinating releases across internal and external teams, and ensuring documentation, runbooks, and non-functional requirements (security, resiliency, observability) are complete
Participate in agile ceremonies and day-to-day execution to drive predictable delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams while maintaining visibility of team capacity and aligning resources to departmental priorities
Troubleshoot production issues and support escalations through resolution, ensuring data integrity and consistency across systems while validating that deliverables meet quality standards and support key performance indicators
What You'll Need to Have:
3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Technical Analyst supporting custom application development, SaaS platforms, or enterprise business applications
Knowledge of route and territory / logistics industry is highly preferred
Strong proficiency with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices, including experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools for backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery execution
Solid database and SQL knowledge with hands-on experience writing queries (SELECT, JOIN, WHERE clauses) in professional settings to support data analysis, KPI monitoring, and data quality validation
Excellent communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to drive alignment and build understanding across business, customer, and technical audiences in cross-functional environments
Highly organized and detail-oriented with proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate complex deliverables across multiple workstreams, and translate technical concepts into business value
Exposure to route planning, territory optimization, scheduling, field service workflows, or logistics operations is preferred
Familiarity with route optimization platforms (e.g., Descartes Roadshow, DELMIA Quintiq) or workflow automation tools (e.g., Appian) is a plus
