The Senior Device Software Product Owner bridges Device Product Management and Software Engineering to translate long-term product strategies into actionable software deliverables. This role owns the end-to-end mobile app feature portfolio for connected hardware devices, driving user retention and NPS through continuous feature delivery, quality management, and data-driven optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesFeature Portfolio & StrategyEnd-to-End Ownership: Own all new and existing device features in the mobile app-from initial vision and requirements through user stories, execution, launch, and post-launch iteration.Backlog & Prioritization: Maintain and prioritize a feature backlog focused on driving maximum lift to user retention and NPS.Competitive & User Research: Gather competitive intelligence, participate in product strategy sessions, and manage feedback from alpha/beta test groups.Agile Execution & QualityStory & Release Management: Translate complex features into concise user stories with acceptance criteria; manage sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user acceptance testing (UAT).Metrics & KPIs: Define success metrics before development begins; measure post-release performance and iterate until target KPIs are met.Bug Triage & Quality: Serve as the quality owner by triaging and prioritizing bug fixes to ensure engineering resolves critical issues first.Risk Mitigation: Identify potential launch impediments, proactively resolve sprint blockers, and lead release planning.Stakeholder Alignment & CommunicationVoice of the Customer: Represent customer needs directly to software engineering teams in daily stand-ups and agile ceremonies.Cross-Functional Enablement: Partner with Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales to build enablement materials, launch support assets, and feature documentation.Stakeholder Reporting: Proactively communicate progress, delivery timeframes, decisions, and risks to leadership.Success MetricsIncreased user retention tied to the in-app device experience.Higher Net Promoter Score (NPS) driven by device software usability and feature performance.QualificationsRequiredEducation & Experience: Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).Product Management: 2+ years in product management (preferably as a Product Owner) or Business Analysis, with a track record of owning shipped consumer features post-launch.Agile Frameworks: 2+ years working in Agile/Lean environments (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), writing user stories, and managing sprint backlogs.Analytics & KPIs: Demonstrated experience defining, instrumenting, and reporting on product performance metrics.Core Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills; highly organized and detail-oriented.PreferredConnected Hardware: Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) products, hardware-software integration, and cross-platform mobile app development.Tooling: Experience with Azure DevOps and Figma.Scaled Agile: Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile Release Trains.Domain: Background in consumer-facing software or connected device ecosystems.
