Job Title: Sr Product Manager/ Owner

Duration: 6+ Months (to be converted into FTE)

Location: Rutherford, NJ (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Vision:
    • Translate high-level strategic objectives and product roadmap into clear, actionable product requirements and user stories, enhancing organizational efficiency for the Risk Policy Hub.
    • Define and articulate the product vision and roadmap for the Risk Policy Hub, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and regulatory imperatives.
  • Requirements & Backlog Management:
    • Serve as the primary liaison between risk management, compliance, legal, technology, and other key stakeholders to capture, analyze, and prioritize business requirements for Risk Policy Hub functionalities.
    • Develop and maintain a well-groomed product backlog, ensuring stories are clearly defined, estimated, and prioritized based on business value, regulatory urgency, and technical feasibility.
    • Facilitate workshops and discussions to elicit detailed requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure shared understanding across teams.
    • Maintain the Book of Work and lead prioritization discussions with key business stakeholders.
    • Utilize Client AI tools for requirements documentation, analysis, and other relevant aspects of product management for the Risk Policy Hub.
  • Platform Development & Delivery:
    • Work closely with agile development teams (scrum masters, developers, QA) throughout the entire product lifecycle of the Risk Policy Hub, from conceptualization to deployment and post-launch optimization.
    • Provide clear guidance and promptly answer questions from development teams during sprint cycles to ensure accurate understanding and implementation of features for the Risk Policy Hub.
    • Actively participate in all agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
    • Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure delivered solutions meet specified requirements and quality standards.
    • Manage large, multi-faceted projects involving multiple functional streams, technology platforms, and geographical locations, driving business results.
    • Develop and publish content for senior management reporting, presentations, and internal communications.
    • Collating and communicating key project milestones, risks, and achievements.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Expertise:
    • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Client Policy, Standards & Procedures, Regulatory Inventory, and other relevant regulatory guidelines pertaining to risk policy.
    • Ensure the Risk Policy Hub's design and functionality support robust data governance, enterprise risk management, and auditability for regulatory submissions.
    • Collaborate with relevant Enterprise Data Office (EDO) and other Product teams to integrate advanced interdependent functionalities into the Risk Policy Hub effectively.
    • Appropriately assess and mitigate project risks, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding assets by ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, proactively communicating project status, updates, risks, and challenges to senior management.
    • Manage expectations and negotiate scope trade-offs to achieve optimal outcomes, promoting partner involvement and cultivating trust among all project stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
    • Monitor Risk Policy Hub performance, user feedback, and regulatory changes to identify areas for continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Champion a data-driven approach to product development, utilizing analytics to inform decisions.
    • Identify and implement best practices in project management, adapting approaches to the context and constraints of each project.
    • Actively learn from past projects and apply lessons learned to future initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in product ownership, business analysis, or systems analysis within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating strategic objectives into detailed product requirements and managing product backlogs.
  • Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies with proven experience in managing and delivering complex technical projects.
  • Prior experience in Enterprise Risk Management and understanding of internal policy frameworks (e.g., Client Policy, Standards & Procedures, Regulatory Inventory) is essential.
  • Advanced data analysis skills, including proficiency with tools like Excel and Python for enhanced data processing and insights.
  • Proven ability to manage complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, balancing conflicting needs and driving consensus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Experience leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, reporting, and delivery discipline is a significant plus.
  • Experience using AI assisted tools is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
