Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Product Owner - Open Banking & API Integration position! This is an 18-month contract and will be on site 4 days/week in Buffalo, NY and 1 day/week remote.
This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing
Build and own the product vision and roadmap for open banking capabilities, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and customer needs
Drive delivery and solutioning of API capabilities and endpoints that enable secure third-party data connectivity and sharing
Define and prioritize product backlog based on overall product strategy, balancing competing priorities in a rapidly-changing landscape
Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria and groom backlog in partnership with agile delivery teams
Design and deliver customer-facing experiences that provide transparency around data access, including consent management and access control functionality
Establish frameworks for third-party risk management, data access sharing, and partner onboarding programs
Collaborate with user experience teams and other Product Owners to align customer journey and dependent backlogs across products
Partner with delivery teams to create information radiators and communication tools that demonstrate progress to internal teams and stakeholders
Represent the voice of the customer within the team, making autonomous decisions to move delivery forward while incorporating design thinking methods
Participate in all agile ceremonies and team activities, influencing positive outcomes across the organization through accountability and ownership
What You'll Need to Have
6+ years of Product Owner experience with proven ability to manage products through influence and ownership in an agile environment
Strong experience with API authentication standards and frameworks (understanding of OIPC, OLAF standards)
Demonstrated proficiency writing user stories, epics, and features with clear acceptance criteria
Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Miro for backlog management, documentation, and collaboration
Solid understanding of Agile and Lean principles and practices, including experience prioritizing across competing demands
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence at all levels without direct authority
High-level understanding of how APIs work and their role in secure data connectivity (technical coding knowledge not required)
Understanding of Design Thinking principles and product design best practices preferred
