About the Role:

Nexgrill is looking for an experienced Quality & Compliance leader to help ensure our products meet high standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.In this role, you’ll serve as a key technical authority overseeing product safety, testing and certification, regulatory compliance, supplier and manufacturing quality, and product traceability.You’ll partner with Product Development, Supply Chain, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to identify and address risk, lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions, and ensure products meet regulatory, retailer, certification, and Nexgrill requirements. Your technical expertise will also support product liability matters, regulatory inquiries, and other quality and compliance-related risks.

Location: Onsite Chino, CA 
Salary Range: $110,000+
Bilingual in English and Mandarin preferred 


What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as Nexgrill’s primary technical authority for product safety, regulatory compliance, testing, certification strategy, and compliance verification programs.
  • Identify, interpret, and maintain applicable regulatory, certification, retailer, testing, labeling, and documentation requirements.
  • Develop, review, and approve testing plans, validation protocols, certification requirements and sampling methodologies
  • Evaluate supplier, laboratory, and third-party testing programs to determine when additional testing or technical review is required.
  • Partner with Product Development and provide independent review and challenge of product testing, certification, and compliance activities to ensure products are designed to comply with applicable requirements.
  • Establish quality standards and inspection requirements, including first-article, pilot-run, initial-production, in-process, final, and pre-shipment controls.
  • Evaluate product, material, supplier, and manufacturing changes for potential quality and compliance impact.
  • Own and continuously improve supplier quality and compliance requirements, including supplier audits, corrective-action programs, traceability, and retailer compliance requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead product-quality and product-safety investigations involving complaints, failures, warranty trends, retailer concerns, injuries, fires, property damage, and manufacturing defects.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) activities, including  verification of effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain product traceability requirements and support field actions, product holds, recall readiness, and regulatory responses
  • Support quality, safety and compliance readiness for current and future product categories.
  • Provide technical support for product liability investigations, insurance matters, litigation-support activities, regulatory inquiries, and related quality and compliance risk matters.
  • Lead cross-functional resolution of significant quality, compliance, safety, testing, certification, supplier-quality, and traceability issues, ensuring actions are assigned, executed, validated, and closed in a timely manner.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the Quality & Compliance Specialist while driving accountability, reporting and timely escalation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in consumer product quality, product safety, regulatory compliance, supplier quality, manufacturing quality systems, or related engineering functions.
  • 3+ years of experience leading employees, technical programs, projects, suppliers, or cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with recognized testing and certification organizations such as CSA, UL, SGS, or similar agencies, with knowledge of applicable product safety, testing, and certification standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in identifying applicable standards and developing, reviewing, and challenging testing protocols, certification requirements, validation methodologies, sampling requirements, compliance verification strategies, and product-quality testing programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide independent, fact-based technical recommendations, challenge assumptions constructively, and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop employees, build accountability, and drive corrective actions through resolution.
  • Experience working with global manufacturing partners and suppliers.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis, CAPA, supplier quality, production controls, product traceability, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical standards, test reports, drawings, specifications, certifications, and manufacturing records.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with grills, outdoor living products, gas appliances, electrical products, durable consumer goods, or other regulated consumer products preferred.
  • Experience with product recalls, product holds, retailer safety matters, product liability claims, or regulatory inquiries preferred.
  • ASQ, Six Sigma, Quality Auditor, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or similar certification preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally 1–2 times per year, for up to two weeks at a time, to visit manufacturing facilities and suppliers.
  • Mandarin language skills are a plus.
