    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.

    • 15 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.

    • 3 years of experience managing or leading teams.

    • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple cross-functional programs or projects.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Masters degree, MBA, graduate degree, or equivalent practical experience in technical, quantitative, or business field.
    • 8 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate strategy, sales operations, or equivalent experience in a technology/media/education company.
    • Experience in the technology, education, or public policy sectors and leading senior external stakeholder relationships while managing multilateral, complex value exchanges with partners.
    • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

    Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google's functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

    Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

    As a part of the Education team at Google, we are seeking a highly organized and driven leader to partner directly with our VP of Strategy, GTM, and Operations and the broader leadership team as the Google Education teams mission is to transform learning and teaching at scale.

    Education is an important area for Google to drive a positive impact with students and educators around the world, and were just getting started. As the Chief of Staff and External Engagement Lead, you will serve as the strategic advisor to the Vice President (VP). You will partner closely with the Senior Director of Strategy and Operations (StratOps) to ensure internal execution aligns with the VPs broader goal. You will act as a proxy for the VP in key industry-wide conversations, build high-impact alliances with education leaders and key opinion formers (KOFs) , and translate macro market intelligence into internal strategic imperatives.

    Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    US: $222000 - $308000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with the VP to develop and execute the Education teams strategic goals, and objectives, aligning internal priorities with external engagement strategies.
    • Anticipate overarching organizational problems and solve them proactively before they even start or on behalf of the leader.
    • Facilitate open communication by connecting dots across the leadership team, cross-functional partners (Product, GTM, Marketing, Communications, Partnerships, Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), and key external stakeholders to ensure cohesive collaboration.
    • Develop and oversee a comprehensive stakeholder intelligence strategy to map, track, and engage key influencers, policymakers, and decision-makers in the learning ecosystem.
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team by monitoring emerging industry and AI trends, and acting as a proxy for the VP in select executive or external conversations, and driving high-impact strategic partnerships.
