Operator II, Manufacturing (Label Printing)

The Operator II, Manufacturing (Label Printing) supports label printing and labeling operations for diagnostic kit manufacturing at our Fremont, CA site in a cGMP-regulated environment. This is a temporary position and is not eligible for benefits.

Work Schedule
Standard hours are 6:00 AM to 2:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Start and end times may flex based on production demand, and this role requires openness to after-hours and weekend overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

Label Printing and Labeling
Set up and operate label printing equipment of moderate complexity, including routine adjustments and troubleshooting.
Read and interpret work orders and the production schedule to run label printing jobs.
Print labels and label bottles, vials, and boxes following standard procedures.
Verify printed labels against approved specifications and work order requirements before and during each run.
Inspect labels, materials, and container configurations at each setup.
Perform line clearance, including reconciliation and disposal of labels and related materials.

Documentation and Inventory
Complete production documentation accurately, including quantities, times, dates, and in-process entries, in accordance with cGMP and the Quality System.
Make required entries in QAD related to material use.
Update label and packaging material inventories, and support safe, secure storage and monitoring of in-house supplies.
Maintain confidentiality of manufacturing data and processes.

Team and Safety
Perform production tasks on different product lines as needed.
Support the supervisor and production lead in resolving day-to-day scheduling, equipment, and material issues.
Assist in developing and writing necessary procedures and protocols.
Handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, and notify the supervisor or manager of any unsafe conditions or practices and take appropriate corrective action.
Maintain work schedules as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, and 2+ years of manufacturing, production, or laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to use electronic management systems such as QAD and Oracle to print the documents required to complete daily work.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures in English.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Ability to organize self and maintain assigned work schedules.
Availability for schedule flexibility, including after-hours and weekend overtime.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in label printing within a GMP or other regulated manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Frequently works standing at a production workstation and at a computer workstation.
Some lifting of objects up to 35 pounds.
Required PPE includes lab coat, gloves, and safety glasses.
