Production and Planting Supervisor

  *Spanish fluency required

• Supervise a group of people. Be able to communicate in spanish. Have good communication skills to communicate with clients,employees and other supervisors.

  Supervise planting or transplanting of all young plants, or cuttings, or other plants being shifted as needed to achieve maximum survivability, quality, and uniformity by training and monitoring all employees.

• • Maintain all planting areas and equipment in a clean, organized, and well-maintained manner.

  • Remove weeds from containerized plants

  • Confirm production numbers are correct by recounting after production has been placed in the production area.

  • Report final planting numbers by the end of the day on Tuesday for the previous week’s production.

  • Report any product that has been moved

  • Report any product that has been dumped

  • Follow all company rules and work a daily and weekly schedule as assigned by management. 

  • Perform other tasks in other departments as required by management.

Physical Requirements

1. Able to lift plants in containers that weigh a minimum of 30 pounds from the ground onto a trailer and/or from the trailer to the ground or onto a bench Able to reach to the middle of a 6-foot-wide bench to set down or lift and remove a tray or plants weighing approximately 20 pounds.

   
   

2. Able to work with clients,other supervisors and employees.

3. Able to stand for 2.5 hours at a time.

4. Able to work outside, in shade houses, or greenhouses during all seasons. 
   
5. Able to handle clippers/pruners to prune or harvest cuttings from plants in containers in the field or from plants on benches for up to 2.5 hours at a time.
   

6. Able to pull weeds from containerized in the field or on benches for up to 2.5 hours per day.

7. Able drive a tractor or utility vehicle.

8. Able to bend or squat as required for some assigned tasks.

9. Able to follow a planting list, count accurately,  and fill out the required forms and reports.
