Production Area Supervisor

Where: Machesney Park, IL
Type: Full-Time
When: 1st Shift
Pay: $75,000 – $95,000 annually

What You’ll Do

• Supervise and motivate production employees within your area on the assigned 1st shift.
• Coordinate daily work orders and staffing to meet customer and company requirements.
• Track schedule adherence, productivity, and downtime; remove obstacles quickly.
• Ensure strict compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Protect product quality; investigate issues and implement timely fixes.
• Review key performance indicators and drive corrective actions.
• Find and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
• Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Engineering to resolve issues and improve flow.
• Lead shift huddles to share priorities, updates, and results.
• Complete production logs, employee documentation, and all required records accurately.
• Manage attendance, performance feedback, and discipline per company policy.
• Promote a respectful, team-first culture.

What You Bring

• 2–5 years supervising in manufacturing or production.
• Experience leading hourly production employees.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety, quality, and throughput.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret schedules, work instructions, and procedures.
• Organized, detail-focused, and effective in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s preferred.
• Exposure to Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement is a plus.
