About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Production Artist to support high-volume publishing and creative production workflows. This role is ideal for someone experienced in print and digital production, Adobe Creative Suite, and asset management, who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
As a Production Artist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality visual content, page layouts, and production-ready files that align with editorial, brand, and design standards across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality images and page layouts that align with established editorial, design, and brand guidelines
- Prepare, format, and release production-ready files for both print and digital distribution
- Perform high-resolution image editing, retouching, and color correction to ensure visual accuracy and consistency
- Organize and finalize files for publishing projects, ensuring all assets meet production standards
- Manage incoming content and asset requests from marketing, packaging teams, and external publishing partners
- Collaborate with editors, historians, and designers to support revisions, updates, and production needs
- Route finalized PDFs to internal stakeholders using Adobe Acrobat
- Maintain file organization, version control, and asset tracking across multiple concurrent projects
- Review digital press proofs to verify accuracy, quality, and print readiness
- Update and manage reprint files, ensuring content revisions are reflected and final assets are delivered to printers
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, or related field (preferred)
- 35 years of experience in a production artist, graphic production, or publishing role
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
- Strong skills in Photoshop and Illustrator for editing both photographic and illustrated assets
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, tight deadlines, and shifting priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to quality control and brand consistency
- Strong organizational and file management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, while taking direction effectively
- Professional, adaptable, and positive approach to fast-paced production environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience with video color correction and color grading
- Familiarity with asset management systems such as Malibu and Box
