Production Assembler 1 (Ammunition)
JOB SUMMARY
Mechanical is responsible for performing entry-level mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies in accordance with work instructions, blueprints and quality standards. This role utilizes hand and power tools to assemble parts, inspect work for accuracy, and maintain a safe and organized work environment. Will work closely with team members and leadership to meet production goals while ensuring product quality and adherence to company procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Good understanding of products and processes. Able to troubleshoot assembly issues with support from supervision & able to work on a variety of tasks.
Assemble components using basic hand tools, power tools and different measuring equipment.
Knowledgeable in drilling, riveting, and bonding procedures.
Apply mechanical skills during assembly, utilizing blueprints and technical instructions.
Perform failure analysis; troubleshoot mechanical failures with support from supervision.
Rework parts to print per instructions as needed.
Able to work on a wide variety of tasks depending on customer demands.
Needs to be organized to ensure a FOD free clean environment.
Required to wear safety glasses and safety shoes during working hours.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 0 to 2 years related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
Ability to read and write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group forum
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Must be able to use hand tools and be mechanically incline
Position involves ability to frequently or constantly exert up to 20 pounds of force and occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. In this position the employee is regularly required to sit, and regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch or crawl. Extended hours and overtime are occasionally required to meet job requirements. Must wear back and wrist support and utilize lifting equipment whenever possible.
