Production Assembler

Job Title: Production Assembler
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary:
Nesco Resource is seeking Production Assemblers to support HVAC equipment manufacturing in Rochester, NY. This hands-on position is responsible for assembling HVAC units and components using hand and power tools while following drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, is comfortable working with tools, and is looking for an opportunity to grow into a permanent manufacturing position.

Pay Rate:
Starting at $20.00/hour
Candidates with specific relevant experience may qualify for higher pay

Shift:
Monday Thursday | 6:00 AM 4:30 PM
Friday | 6:00 AM 11:00 AM
Currently running some overtime
Optional Saturday overtime may be available

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble HVAC units, subassemblies, and components using hand and power tools
• Read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Install mechanical and electrical components including wiring, motors, fans, coils, compressors, and controls
• Inspect parts and completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
• Perform functional testing and basic troubleshooting as required
• Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues, or production concerns
• Accurately complete production and quality documentation
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S practices
• Cross-train at multiple assembly stations as needed
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase productivity and reduce waste
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred
• HVAC manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to read assembly instructions, basic blueprints, and measuring devices
• Basic math and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with pneumatic tools, torque tools, or measuring instruments is a plus
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus but not required

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Fast-paced manufacturing and assembly environment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Frequent repetitive use of hands and arms
• Exposure to manufacturing noise, dust, and varying temperatures
• Required use of appropriate PPE and adherence to all safety procedures
