Position Overview
A leading cabinet manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Assembly Manager to oversee daily assembly operations and lead multiple production departments responsible for assembling, finishing, repairing, and preparing cabinets for shipment. This individual will drive production performance, improve efficiency, maintain quality and safety standards, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors and production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the cabinet assembly line.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Monitor production throughout the day, remove bottlenecks, and maximize throughput.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Oversee supervisors across assembly, finishing, repair, and packaging departments.
- Balance labor resources based on production demand.
- Analyze production metrics and implement workflow improvements.
- Partner with Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Operations to optimize production flow.
- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors while building future leaders.
- Hold supervisors accountable for production goals, quality, safety, attendance, and employee performance.
- Maintain high quality standards and ensure defects are resolved before shipment.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- 5+ years managing supervisors in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of assembly line manufacturing and production flow.
- Proven ability to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and labor utilization.
- Experience leading large production teams of 100+ employees through multiple supervisors.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
- Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP systems, production reporting, and manufacturing KPIs is preferred.
