Trident Seafoods is North America"s largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Summary:
The Production Assistant Manager plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in production and supports production related issues in the plant for year-round production.
Assists the Production Manager in overseeing all production-related activities and issues in the value-added plant. The Assistant will directly oversee the 2nd shift operations and will be the primary point of contact for the entire production facility during the 2nd shift.
This position must have seafood experience and a complete working knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, and other safety and quality systems are vital to this position.
Essential Functions: (Responsibilities, Tasks, Supervisory Needs)
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of productions and scheduled delivery dates.
Prepare operational staffing schedules and coordinates activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and uses root cause and data analysis to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Supervises, trains, and coaches team members, supervisors, leads, and forepersons
Partner with Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, evaluations and corrective counseling.
Ensures products conform to specification and meet all food safety and quality (FSQA) requirements while working closely with Food Safety Quality Assurance
Works with maintenance team to achieve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) goals
Prioritizes Good Manufacturing Practices with team members and supports Seafood HACCP program.
Other duties as assigned.
Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Minimum Requirements
Required Qualifications: (Education, Years of Experience, Certifications)
5 years of experience in a manufacturing production environment with specific experience leading production lines.
4 years of experience as a production supervisor.
HS Diploma or equivalent (or degree, etc.)
Preferred Education & Experiences:
Associate"s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
Food Industry experience
Knowledge of manufacturing process with an understanding of production techniques, assembly processes, and quality control systems.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Leadership experience to support a team of 3 supervisors and 60+ hourly team members, including the ability to evaluate staff performance and develop team members
Problem solving and critical thinking
Continuous Improvement experience with 5S and Six Sigma
HACCP certification
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Work Ability Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. May occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
