The Mapleton Foundry is looking to hire Foundry Specialists! As a Foundry Specialist at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform a variety of manual and/or machine functions related to core making such as dipping, inspecting and assembling cores. You will also operate and/or lock out equipment to clean molding floor and reclaim or dispose of sand in basement levels.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Core box mounting
Mixing and testing core sand
Bolt threading
Molding functions such as preparing pouring basins
Mold spraying, drying and/or venting
Operating punch-out and related equipment
Finishing functions such as riser breaking
Hand chipping and finning
Operating shakeouts, stand and portable grinders
Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles
Minimum Qualifications:
One-year prior manufacturing work experience
Ability to frequently lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
Ability to stand throughout an 8 to 12-hour shift
Ability to operate heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment
Top candidates will also have:
Previous machine shop or foundry experience
Computer knowledge
Verbal and written communication skills
Problem solving and decision-making
Math skills

Competitive base salary- starting pay rate at $20.40-$25.32, plus $1.00 night-shift premium

Positions start as supplemental (40 or more hours per week but with no holiday pay and limited benefits) on 2nd or 3rd shift
