The Door Shop Production Associate is responsible for assembling, preparing, and inspecting interior and exterior door systems, frames, millwork, and hardware according to production specifications and customer requirements. This role supports manufacturing operations by safely operating tools and production equipment, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring products are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you'll do:

Door Assembly & Production

  • Assemble interior and exterior doors, frames, jambs, millwork, and related building components according to work orders and specifications
  • Measure, cut, grind, sand, drill, and prepare materials using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment
  • Install hardware, hinges, locks, fasteners, and accessories according to product specifications
  • Assemble door frame components, moldings, and hardware using appropriate fixtures and equipment
  • Inspect completed products to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer requirements

Material Handling & Workstation Support

  • Retrieve, stage, and organize materials and supplies for daily production
  • Review work orders to verify correct materials, hardware, and components are selected
  • Move finished products to staging areas or shipping locations
  • Wrap, label, strap, and prepare completed products for storage or delivery
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate material shortages to supervisors

Quality Control

  • Inspect raw materials and finished products for defects or non-conforming conditions
  • Verify measurements, fit, finish, and workmanship throughout the production process
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain high workmanship standards

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Perform safety inspections on tools and equipment prior to use
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations and storage areas
  • Properly dispose of scrap materials, packaging, and waste
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or operational concerns immediately

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with production supervisors and team members to achieve production goals
  • Participate in safety meetings and required training programs
  • Support workflow improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What you'll bring:

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to follow work instructions, production documents, and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience in manufacturing, woodworking, millwork, door production, carpentry, or construction
  • Experience assembling doors, frames, or related building products
  • Familiarity with production drawings, work orders, and measuring tools
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing systems
  • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and production environment with occasional outdoor exposure
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, dust, vibration, and seasonal temperatures
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 85 pounds with assistance as needed
  • Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, and material handling equipment
  • May require overtime or extended hours based on production schedules
