Job Title: Production Technician – Starlink Mini Program

Job Description

This role focuses on supporting prototype and production manufacturing for the Starlink Mini program by loading materials onto production lines, performing visual inspections, and assembling electro-mechanical components. You will work closely with engineers to develop, optimize, and maintain production line stations and processes while ensuring high product quality and a strong focus on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Load materials onto production lines for the Starlink Mini program in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform detailed visual inspections of units to identify and report any defects or nonconformances.
  • Support the development of prototype manufacturing and test capabilities by assisting with builds and process trials.
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical user terminal components, subassemblies, and final assemblies according to instructions and controlled documentation.
  • Operate light equipment such as drills, custom-built tooling, crimpers, and presses safely and effectively.
  • Program, load, operate, and troubleshoot automated equipment used in the production process.
  • Execute equipment maintenance and calibration schedules to ensure reliable and accurate operation.
  • Package final products for delivery, ensuring correct labeling, protection, and conformance to shipping requirements.
  • Maintain consumables inventory by monitoring stock levels and communicating replenishment needs.
  • Assist engineers with development builds, experiments, and other technical tasks as needed.
  • Help develop and optimize production line stations and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Keep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained workspace in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to design requirements by following established procedures and documentation.
  • Prioritize safety at all times by following safety procedures, using equipment properly, and identifying potential hazards.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of mechanical or electrical assembly experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from layout drawings, mechanical drawings, and assembly procedures or work instructions.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and parts lists accurately.
  • Proficiency using a PC with Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong quality assurance mindset with experience in visual inspection for defects.
  • Experience working in an electro-mechanical manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with electrical wiring in a production or assembly setting.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and production team members.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks, documentation, and inventory efficiently.
  • Willingness to commit to a 2-month contract with the possibility of extension or reassignment to other programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting prototype manufacturing and test capabilities.
  • Familiarity with operating light production equipment such as drills, crimpers, presses, and custom tooling.
  • Experience programming, loading, operating, and troubleshooting automated equipment.
  • Experience in high-volume production environments where throughput and quality are both critical.
  • Comfort working from controlled documentation and following standardized work instructions.
  • Ability to contribute to continuous improvement by helping develop and optimize production line stations and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Work Environment

This position operates in a production and manufacturing setting focused on electro-mechanical assemblies and automated equipment. You will work with tools such as drills, crimpers, presses, custom-built tooling, and automated machinery while following detailed engineering documentation and work instructions. Multiple shift options are available, including Monday to Friday from 4:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, Sunday to Wednesday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday to Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with expectations to maintain a well-ordered workspace and follow all safety procedures throughout the shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Hawthorne, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
