Job Title: Production Associate (Loader/Unloader)

Job Description

This role supports the production team by safely and efficiently loading and unloading materials, verifying shipments, and ensuring products are handled, stored, and moved according to company procedures. You will help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while working closely with warehouse and production staff to keep operations running smoothly.


Responsibilities


+ Load and unload materials from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.

+ Verify incoming and outgoing materials against shipping invoices and documentation.

+ Sort, pack, wrap, tie, and label products according to company procedures and standards.

+ Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to move materials throughout the facility.

+ Perform regular inventory checks, document counts, and promptly report discrepancies to management.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment by following housekeeping and safety guidelines.

+ Coordinate with warehouse and production staff to determine appropriate placement and storage of goods.

+ Ensure proper handling, storage, and delivery of sensitive or special materials, obtaining authorization when necessary.

+ Complete daily logs, checklists, and reports accurately and on time.

+ Inspect materials and products during loading and unloading to prevent damage and ensure quality.

+ Follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of protective gear and equipment.

+ Manage time effectively to meet production and shipping deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

+ Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.

+ Identify and help resolve problems that arise during loading, unloading, or material movement.


Essential Skills


+ Experience in general labor, general production, or similar hands-on roles.

+ Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and safely.

+ Ability to stand and be on your feet for 8+ hours per day.

+ Strong attention to detail to ensure items are correctly loaded, unloaded, and handled without damage.

+ Solid safety awareness and knowledge of safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

+ Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate tasks with others.

+ Good time management skills to meet production and shipping deadlines.

+ Clear verbal communication skills for interacting with team members and supervisors.

+ Basic problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues during loading and unloading.

+ Familiarity with material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, hoists, and conveyors.

+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to company procedures.

+ Comfort working in a physically demanding, fast-paced production or warehouse environment.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or logistics environment.

+ Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks.

+ Experience performing inventory checks and documenting counts.

+ Comfort with completing daily logs, checklists, and basic reports.

+ Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area.

+ Willingness to work flexible or extended hours as needed to support production demands.

+ Interest in learning and following continuous improvement and safety best practices.

Work Environment


This is a hands-on industrial production and warehouse environment that requires regular lifting of 50+ pounds and being on your feet for more than 8 hours per day. Safety is paramount, with strict protocols in place to prevent accidents and injuries, including the use of appropriate protective gear and adherence to established safety procedures. You will work closely with colleagues, and collaboration is essential to keep production and material flow efficient. Most roles are full-time, and some schedules may require working more than 40 hours per week depending on production needs. The facility can be noisy due to machinery and equipment, so you must be comfortable working in a high-noise environment. The job is physically demanding, involving frequent lifting, moving of heavy objects, and standing or walking for extended periods, as well as regular use of material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, and conveyors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jeffersonville, IN.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
