Job Title: Night Shift Production WorkerJob Description

This role supports electronic production manufacturing on night shifts by performing testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging to help meet customer deadlines. You will work in a light industrial, general assembly environment, acquire job skills through structured training, and follow detailed instructions under close supervision while contributing to production goals.

Responsibilities
  • Support production manufacturing activities to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Perform general electronic production tasks, including testing, inspection, light assembly, machine operation, and packaging.
  • Assemble components by hand, such as inserting one hose into another, while meeting established piece-count and throughput metrics.
  • Follow detailed written and verbal instructions for all tasks and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Use basic hand tools and follow blueprints or work instructions as required for electronic assembly tasks.
  • Operate within defined production standards and goals, consistently completing assignments on time without compromising quality.
  • Monitor your own work to ensure it meets quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable compliance guidelines.
  • Identify and reduce scrap or rework by delivering work that meets quality expectations the first time.
  • Adapt to changes in work plans, priorities, and leadership direction in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives, including workplace organization efforts such as 5S, to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Look for opportunities to improve work processes, productivity, and quality, and share ideas with supervisors and team members.
  • Work cooperatively within your team and with cross-functional teams as needed to achieve production goals.
  • Maintain a professional and level temperament in a stressful or fast-paced environment.
  • Openly and proactively share information, knowledge, and experience with co-workers to support team success.
  • Take on additional assignments and tasks as needed to support other departments and overall production demands.
  • Apply new work requirements and procedures with minimal supervision once trained.
  • Stay current on all required certifications and training for the role.
  • Use basic computer programs, including internal systems, spreadsheets, and email, to document work and communicate as required.
  • Keep supervisors informed of progress, escalate issues when necessary, and follow guidance provided.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with company standards and procedures.
Essential Skills
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate internal programs, use basic spreadsheet functions for documentation, and utilize email.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions, work instructions, or basic blueprints related to electronic assembly.
  • General production and electronic assembly experience, including familiarity with hand tools, is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with small components and light assembly tasks.
  • Ability to meet individual throughput and piece-count goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work plans, priorities, and direction from leadership.
  • Capability to work cooperatively as part of a team and within cross-functional groups.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to follow instructions and communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently after training while still contributing effectively to the team.
  • Ability to maintain composure and a level temperament in a fast-paced or stressful environment.
  • Willingness to take on additional assignments and help in other departments as needed.
  • Consistent time management skills to complete tasks and assignments on schedule.
  • Understanding of basic quality principles, including adherence to quality policies, customer specifications, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to identify and help eliminate waste, scrap, or rework in daily tasks.
  • Physical ability to sit and stand for the duration of a 10–12 hour shift and to frequently reach at waist level.
  • Ability to lift and handle items up to approximately 10–15 pounds in a repetitive, light industrial setting.
  • High School diploma or GED is preferred.
  • One or more years of related production, manufacturing, or electronic assembly experience is preferred, though an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous electronic manufacturing experience in through-hole or surface-mount soldering is highly valued.
  • Experience in retail, food service, or other manufacturing environments is considered a strong foundation for this role.
  • Ability and willingness to perform different tasks frequently and become comfortable rotating between responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in manufacturing and progressing within the organization.
  • Experience using hand tools and working from basic blueprints or work instructions.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices such as 5S or similar workplace organization initiatives.
  • Experience meeting production metrics, such as piece counts or throughput goals, in prior roles.
  • Openness to working night shifts on a consistent schedule, including every other Saturday.
  • Comfort working under close supervision initially and then applying new skills with minimal supervision once trained.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level. The work involves light industrial, general assembly tasks where you will handle components typically weighing no more than 10–15 pounds. You will perform testing, inspection, assembly, machine operation, and packaging using basic hand tools and computer-based systems for documentation and communication. Night shifts are structured as B Shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.) and D Shift (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). You will have the flexibility to sit or stand during the majority of your 10–12 hour shift, though standing will be required for portions of the work. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to production standards, with close supervision and clear instructions provided, especially during initial training.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.80 - $19.80/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
