Job Title: Production AssociateJob Description

The Production Associate safely manufactures metal E-Rings by operating a variety of production equipment, following detailed work instructions, and ensuring products meet quality standards. This role combines machine operation, assembly, inspection, and basic computer use in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with opportunities to learn new processes and move between departments.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture metal E-Rings in accordance with documented procedures and production specifications.
  • Safely operate manufacturing equipment, including Planish Press, Belt Sander, Roll Form Machines, polishing equipment, and hydraulic presses to produce completed parts.
  • Set up, run, and monitor machines to ensure consistent quality and adherence to production standards.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, work orders, and related documentation to perform tasks accurately.
  • Perform assembly tasks as required to complete parts and components.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of parts using standard measuring devices and gauges.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and leads regarding work order status, issues, and completion of work.
  • Move between different departments as needed to support production demands and cross-functional tasks.
  • Use a computer to enter data, review work orders, and complete basic production-related documentation.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment, supporting others and contributing to a positive and productive workplace.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and follow written and verbal directions from leadership.
  • Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Essential Skills
  • Experience as a machine operator, assembler, or in a similar mechanically inclined role.
  • Ability to safely operate production equipment such as presses, sanders, roll form machines, and polishing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic production documentation.
  • Basic math skills to perform measurements and simple calculations.
  • Ability to use standard measuring devices and gauges for inspection and quality checks.
  • Ability to read and write English to follow instructions and complete documentation.
  • Basic computer skills to enter data and review work orders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with others.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as part of regular job duties.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently and use hands to operate machines, measuring devices, and computer equipment.
  • Close vision capability to inspect parts and read detailed instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, machine operation, assembly, or inspection is beneficial.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and production equipment.
  • Supervisory experience or exposure to coordinating work with others is a plus.
  • Flexibility to move between different departments and learn multiple processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal directions consistently and accurately.

Work Environment

Production Associates work closely with other associates, manufacturing leads, and manufacturing support staff in a collaborative shop-floor environment. The role involves frequent standing and walking, regular use of hands to operate machines, measuring devices, and computers, and close vision work for inspection and reading instructions. The facility is described as clean, with structured processes and standard production equipment such as presses, belt sanders, roll form machines, and polishing equipment. Regular attendance and professional, cooperative interaction with coworkers and others are expected. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime), 2nd shift (3:00 PM–12:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, and 3:00 PM–7:00 PM on Friday), and 3rd shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Haven, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
