The Production Associate – Truss & Wall Assembly is responsible for assembling roof trusses, wall panels, and other structural building components according to production specifications, engineering drawings, and work orders. This role supports manufacturing operations by preparing materials, assembling components, operating production equipment, and performing quality inspections to ensure products meet customer requirements and company standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you will do::

Component Assembly & Production

  • Assemble roof trusses, wall panels, and structural building components according to work orders and production specifications
  • Measure, mark, align, and fasten lumber and structural materials using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and power equipment
  • Read and interpret work orders, production drawings, and assembly instructions
  • Inspect materials before assembly and remove damaged or non-conforming products
  • Move completed assemblies through production and staging areas for final processing

Material Handling & Workstation Setup

  • Retrieve and stage lumber, connector plates, fasteners, and production materials
  • Set up workstations and production equipment for daily manufacturing activities
  • Operate forklifts, rolling carts, and other approved material-handling equipment as authorized
  • Maintain organized inventory and ensure production materials are readily available
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and staging finished products as needed

Quality Control

  • Perform quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process
  • Verify dimensions, measurements, component placement, and workmanship
  • Identify product defects or production concerns and notify supervisors promptly
  • Maintain high quality standards to ensure products meet engineering specifications and customer expectations

Safety & Equipment Operation

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Perform daily safety inspections on assigned tools and production equipment
  • Safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, saws, nail guns, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment
  • Report equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or operational concerns immediately
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with supervisors and production team members to meet production schedules and quality standards
  • Participate in required safety meetings and job training
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Experience using pneumatic nail guns, staple guns, saws, and production equipment
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Familiarity with production drawings and measuring tools
  • Basic computer skills
  • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and production environment with occasional outdoor exposure
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, dust, vibration, and seasonal temperatures
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly; heavier materials require team lifting or mechanical assistance
  • Frequent use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, production machinery, and material-handling equipment
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production schedules and business needs
