Job Description:
Position Summary:

As a Shipping/Receiving Associate, your primary responsibility is receiving of unfinished goods coming into the building, keeping assembly lines stocked with materials needed for production, and loading/unloading of scheduled windows for shipment. This critical role involves precise scanning of materials and bin location, wrapping and loading windows onto designated trailers based on load sheets, securing loads with tie straps, and ensuring the accuracy of the shipment against load sheets. Your attention to detail and physical capability are key assets in this position.

What To Expect:
Computerized Scanning: Scan bar codes/window stickers with a computerized scanner to ensure accurate tracking.
Operate forklift or other powered industrial equipment in a safe manner.
Loading and Unloading: Load windows onto the correct trailer according to load sheets. Unload windows as necessary.
Wrapping: Wrap windows to prepare for shipment.
Load Security: Secure loads by tying off windows with tie straps.
Verification: Verify the completeness of the load against the load sheet to ensure accuracy.
Reasoning and Understanding Ability: Understand and interpret order data accurately.

Shipping/Receiving Associates may perform a variety of roles, including:

Forklift/Towmotor Operator
Receive incoming goods from dock and transport to appropriate warehouse or production location according to part/order number.
Retrieve goods from warehouse according to order forms, load carts and manually transport goods on carts to production floor.
Perform inventory audits and organize warehouse to ensure proper placement of goods.
Complete company training and attain certification to operate heavy equipment such as forklift to receive and transport goods.
Physical material handling.
Maintaining safety of handling the machinery while maneuvering through production lines.

Wrapper
Before beginning the wrapping process, inspect windows for any damage before staging and return any damaged or broken windows or patio doors to production for repairs or a remake.
Based on the window model or profile, the Wrapper must be able to identify the correct packaging for each window that is being staged for shipment. IE cardboard corners, full cardboard and shrink wrap.
Most windows will be placed on a conveyor belt where the packaging is added and then run through a wrapping machine. Larger windows are handled by two employees working together to wrap the window vertically.
Once the window is wrapped, the operator removes it from the wrapping station, applies the appropriate shipping labels, and moves the window to the lane and bin area to be staged for shipment.
Must be able to lift to 150 lbs. with the help of a second person.

Loader
Employees must follow all company safety procedures regarding proper loading techniques while placing windows and patio doors onto the trailers.
Locate windows in staging area, place on cart and transport to outgoing truck according to shipping destination.
Securely position windows in trucks by utilizing fastening and protective devices such as ratchet straps, shipping pillows and cardboard.
Use scanner to allow for digital tracking of outgoing and incoming windows (inventory management).
Must be able to lift to 150 lbs. with the help of a second person.

Qualifications:
What We re Looking For:
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience. Preferred experience of 1-2 years in a manufacturing / production environment
Proficiency in spoken and written English sufficient to
Read and understand safety procedures, hazard warnings, and equipment operating instructions.
Accurately complete production records, quality checklists, and incident reports in English.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
English proficiency is required for these tasks to comply with OSHA workplace safety standards and regulatory documentation requirements.
Previous experience operating industrial equipment preferred for Forklift/Towmotor position.
Ability to adapt in fast-paced environment and motivated to become well-versed within multiple areas of operations.
Strong attention detail and willingness to work independently or as part of a team and contribute to all areas of operations.
Understand how to collaborate with a variety of different people and roles.

Physical Requirements:
The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat.
Physical demands to include movements, positioning, remaining stationary which include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance, based on position, 80lbs-100lb with assistance.
Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location.
