Production Control Clerk

Shift: 4-Day Workweek Monday -Thursday 2:30PM – 1AM

(additional time as required to support team and business needs)

The Production Control Clerk plays an important role in keeping our manufacturing operation moving by coordinating production work orders, materials, schedules, and information across the facility. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the combination of manufacturing, problem-solving, technology, and working with people. You'll spend time connected to the production floor while also working with ERP systems, production data, schedules, and documentation.

You'll partner closely with Production Planning, Operations, Material Flow, Finance, and other teams to make sure scheduled work is ready to run, production information is accurate, and issues are identified and resolved quickly.

What You’ll Do

• Work with Production Planning to receive daily and weekly production schedules.
• Generate, organize, prioritize, and release production work orders for assigned work centers.
• Partner with shift leads and supervisors to make sure materials and resources are ready for upcoming production.
• Reprioritize scheduled work as needed to help achieve the monthly production plan.
• Communicate production exceptions and changes to the Planning team.
• Collect and review completed work orders and scrap documentation.
• Validate production quantities, labor hours, and completed operations and correct discrepancies when identified.
• Close completed production orders and provide daily reporting to Finance.
• Serve as a primary resource for Operations when employees need help with work orders, production queues, staging, or replacement documentation.
• Create and coordinate production orders and material requirements for rework, including working in Dynamics 365 (D365) to create production orders and BOMs when needed.
• Partner with Material Flow to ensure rework items and required materials are available when scheduled.
• Participate in cycle counts and year-end physical inventory.
• Help support SMU and NPI pilot builds by coordinating resources and tracking production.
• Cross-train and provide backup support for Materials and Scheduling functions as skills develop and business needs require.
• Help train, develop, and guide Material Handlers, Material Coordinators, and temporary associates.

These responsibilities reflect the scope of the Production Control Clerk role provided in the job description, including ownership of work-order flow, production reporting, rework coordination, and cross-functional production support.

Preferred qualifications include

• High School Diploma or GED. 
• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, production control, inventory control, material flow, scheduling, or a related environment.
• Strong computer skills and comfort learning new systems and technology.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems; Dynamics 365 (D365) experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in production, inventory, or system data.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across Production, Planning, Material Flow, Finance, and other teams.
• Ability to obtain forklift and riding pallet jack certification; training and certification are provided.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including regularly lifting/moving up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to adjust workdays or hours as business needs require.
