Production Control Shipping Desk

Nesco Resource is looking for a Production Control Shipping Desk Associate located in Danbury, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM

Pay: $24-$26/hour depending on experience

Position Overview : We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Control / Shipping Desk Associate to support daily outbound logistics operations. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring on-time, accurate delivery performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively communicate across multiple teams while resolving shipping and transportation issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily outbound shipping activities including carrier scheduling, pickups, and transportation communication
• Manage shipment exceptions, reships, billing discrepancies, and delivery issues to maintain on-time performance
• Prioritize urgent requests, escalations, and recovery actions to meet customer deadlines
• Ensure accuracy of shipping documentation including BOLs, labels, tracking details, and export paperwork
• Prepare and submit Advance Shipping Notifications (ASNs) in a timely manner
• Act as the main point of contact between Customer Service, Logistics, Transportation teams, and external carriers
• Support both domestic and international shipping operations across multiple facilities
• Monitor and improve shipping processes by identifying inefficiencies and supporting continuous improvement efforts
• Track and report key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, carrier performance, and shipment exceptions
• Provide support for shipping systems (SAP EWM preferred), including troubleshooting and user assistance

• Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or shipping operations
• Strong understanding of outbound shipping processes and transportation coordination
• Experience handling shipment issues, delivery coordination, or carrier communication preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP EWM is a plus)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional interactions
• Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Customer-focused mindset with a sense of urgency and accountability
