FULL DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Control Specialist with experience in a CNC machining environment to support daily manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for coordinating production schedules, monitoring workflow, tracking materials, and ensuring jobs move efficiently through the shop to meet customer deadlines and quality standards. The ideal candidate understands CNC manufacturing processes, shop floor operations, and production planning within a fast-paced machine shop environment.
 
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Create, manage, and adjust daily and weekly production schedules for CNC machining operations. 
  • Monitor work orders and job status to ensure on-time delivery and efficient workflow. 
  • Coordinate with machining, quality, engineering, purchasing, and shipping departments to resolve production issues. 
  • Prioritize jobs based on customer deadlines, machine availability, and material readiness. 
  • Track raw materials, tooling, and outside processing requirements to prevent production delays. 
  • Maintain accurate production records, job travelers, and ERP/MRP system data. 
  • Review capacity planning and machine utilization to optimize shop efficiency. 
  • Communicate schedule changes and production updates to supervisors and leadership. 
  • Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and material reconciliation. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction, productivity, and process efficiency. 
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and quality standards.
 
The selected candidate will also possess:
  • 3+ years of experience in production control, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination within a CNC machine shop. 
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes including milling, turning, setup, and workflow sequencing. 
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software. 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production documentation. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Experience with aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-precision manufacturing. 
  • Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 quality systems. 
  • APICS or production planning certification preferred but not required.
 
Salary Range: $25-35/hour
