PGS Worldwide is seeking a Production Controller in Oxnard, CA for a one-year contract role supporting Northrop Grumman.
The Production Controller will support manufacturing planning, production control, inventory operations, kitting, material movement, ERP transactions, cycle counts, and shipping/receiving activity. This role requires ERP inventory experience, Microsoft application skills, forklift capability, and strong coordination with production, quality, purchasing, and production control teams.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with inventory operations in an ERP system, preferably Deltek Costpoint.
- Microsoft application experience.
- Ability to use a forklift and other inventory-related equipment.
- Ability to support material requirements, availability, and production control schedules.
- Ability to interface with production, quality control, purchasing, production control, and related departments.
- Ability to research kit shortages and expedite missing kits.
- Ability to receive and transact incoming material in an MRP system.
- Ability to conduct cycle counts and validate quantity, revision levels, stock location, and transfers.
- Ability to pack and ship outgoing orders using UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Kitting experience.
- Experience liaising between manufacturing and inventory teams.
- Experience with 5S or continuous improvement practices.
- Experience managing projects using software tools.
- Experience supporting production metrics, inventory optimization, material flow improvement, and shortage resolution.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain schedules for material requirements and availability.
- Support production control by optimizing inventory storage systems.
- Make decisions on part categorization, bin size, and stock location.
- Research kit shortages, expedite missing kits, and support kit integration.
- Reconcile traceability and ensure inventory processes meet quality standards.
- Receive, transact, pack, ship, and move materials in support of production needs.
- Conduct cycle counts and validate inventory accuracy.
- Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments.
- Identify possible or actual shortages and help initiate corrective action.
- Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Support manufacturing planning and production control operations onsite.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 9x80 A schedule.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Onsite role.
