HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: The Production Coordinator - CNC Programmer is responsible for the timely release of service, warranty, rework, and stock shop orders to support on-time customer delivery. This role integrates Production Control and CNC programming responsibilities to support efficient flow of critical orders to the Fabrication Department, including the creation, printing, distribution, and nesting of shop orders. This position ensures shop orders are released on schedule, maintains balanced workloads, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to effectively prioritize and execute critical orders.

  • Create, manage, and schedule service and warranty shop orders, balancing capacity across departments
  • Monitor stock service part inventory and release shop orders to maintain target levels
  • Monitor rework application to determine rework requirements and create/modify shop orders in TCM accordingly
  • Analyze demand, generate shop orders, and manage releases for Kanban and stocked inventory
  • Print, sort, and distribute shop order paperwork by department
  • Identify, document, and communicate shortages; adjusting releases based on part availability
  • Prioritize and communicate high priority orders to support on-time completion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Production has the information needed to prevent delays
  • Develop a strong understanding of the TCM shop order structure to effectively complete shop order modifications
  • Monitor production performance against the schedule and adjust releases as needed
  • Support inventory control efforts by monitoring stock part levels
  • Clearly communicate with the appropriate departments when changes occur
  • Collaborate with Engineering, GSS, and Production to ensure details, specs, and schedules are properly understood
  • Communicate with Part Sales on the status of customer orders
  • Support Fabrication through the development, modification, and optimization of CNC programs
  • Develop and optimize nesting programs for service, warranty, rework, and stock parts
  • Maximize material utilization and flow through efficient nesting strategies
  • Troubleshoot programming issues and implement improvements to reduce downtime
  • Monitor and maintain plate remnant levels
  • Follow established procedures to maintain plate steel inventory accuracy
  • Collaborate with machine operators on the performance of programs; utilizing feedback to improve program quality
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and implement best practices
  • Maintain the Cut Schedule with daily cut hours
  • Assist with production activities as needed, including the company's physical inventory

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

  • Understanding of scheduling, lead times, and order priorities
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and Word)
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations
  • High school diploma required, technical degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of related experience in Production Planning/Scheduling
  • 1-3 years of CNC programming experience in a metal shop
  • Previous experience with an ERP/MRP system
  • Previous experience with ProNest or similar programming software
  • APICS certification is helpful
