The Production Coordinator plays a key role in supporting aerospace manufacturing operations by organizing and overseeing the production workflow from start to finish. This position coordinates schedules, expedites materials and components, and ensures that production orders are completed on time while maintaining strict adherence to aerospace quality standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. The role requires a highly organized, detail-focused professional who can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and expedite production orders to ensure on-time completion and delivery in line with customer requirements and production goals.
  • Coordinate daily activities with production, engineering, quality, purchasing, shipping, and inventory teams to maintain an efficient and continuous workflow.
  • Resolve production holds related to raw materials, tooling, gages, and engineering design to prevent shortages, bottlenecks, and delays.
  • Review work orders, travelers, blueprints, and production schedules for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with production capacity.
  • Review and balance workloads across appropriate departments to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Communicate production status, schedule updates, and potential delays clearly and promptly to internal stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and expedite critical jobs to ensure customer deadlines and internal production targets are consistently met.
  • Ensure all activities comply with aerospace quality standards, internal company procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Support inventory-related tasks by coordinating materials availability and monitoring component flow to the production floor.
  • Use precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers, and perform visual inspections as needed to support production quality and accuracy.
  • Assist in production planning and scheduling activities to align capacity, materials, and labor with demand.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and suggesting practical solutions.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with production, engineering, quality, purchasing, shipping, and inventory teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly address production holds and workflow issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, for tracking schedules, orders, and production data.
  • High attention to detail when reviewing work orders, travelers, blueprints, and production schedules.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a production and warehouse environment.
  • Experience or familiarity with production planning, production scheduling, and inventory coordination.
  • Ability to use or learn precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers, and perform visual inspection tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within aerospace or other regulated industries.
  • Hands-on experience with production planning, production scheduling, and planning coordination.
  • Exposure to inventory control practices in a production setting.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and quality.
  • Familiarity with visual inspection techniques to support quality control.
  • Comfort working with structured procedures and standards, particularly in quality-driven environments.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean manufacturing and warehouse environment where most of the work is performed on your feet and requires frequent movement throughout the facility. You will work around production equipment, materials, and inventory, following established safety and quality procedures. Various positions are available on both first and second shifts. The first shift typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with additional hours from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The second shift typically runs from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with additional hours from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The environment supports hands-on work with production planning, scheduling, and inspection activities, including the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
