Location: New York, NY (1755 Broadway)

Schedule: Monday through Thursday on-site; Friday remote (Work From Home)

Contract: Temporary/Contract

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour (non-negotiable)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Operations Coordinator to support a fast-paced merchandise production team focused on high-profile product launches. This role plays a key part in coordinating production operations, managing purchase orders, tracking shipments, maintaining ERP records, and ensuring merchandise is delivered accurately and on schedule.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing purchase orders throughout the production lifecycle and thrives in a deadline-driven environment. Experience within the apparel, fashion, retail merchandising, consumer products, or manufacturing industries is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage purchase orders from creation through production, shipment, and fulfillment.
  • Track production schedules and ensure milestones are met to support on-time product launches.
  • Maintain accurate production records within ERP systems.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with vendors, factories, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
  • Process goods receipts and maintain shipment documentation.
  • Monitor inventory movement and production status updates.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and operational documentation.
  • Support Finance by coordinating invoices and resolving purchase order discrepancies.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors, suppliers, and internal business partners regarding production timelines and order status.
  • Identify and resolve production or shipment issues to minimize delays.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in production coordination, supply chain, operations, purchasing, or merchandising.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and managing purchase orders throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Experience working with vendors, manufacturers, factories, or third-party logistics providers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in apparel, fashion, retail merchandising, consumer products, or manufacturing.

  • Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics (Navision) or comparable ERP platforms.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including:

  • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP

  • Pivot Tables

  • Data analysis and reporting

  • Experience coordinating production schedules, logistics, and shipment tracking.

  • Familiarity with inventory management and production reporting.
