Special Projects / Projects Room Lead

Position Summary

The Special Projects / Projects Room Lead is responsible for coordinating daily work orders, projects, inventory, quality activities, and warehouse associates within the Projects Room. This position ensures projects are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule while maintaining strong communication with Operations, Management, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Liaise with the Corporate Operations Team and Management Team to facilitate the timely flow of information and completion of assigned activities and tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Identify, suggest, and assist with implementing process improvements.
• Perform all duties in a professional manner while contributing to a positive, team-oriented warehouse culture.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Projects Room

• Manage all work orders and projects, including coding, labeling, assembly-line jobs, and other special projects.
• Review and schedule work orders according to required completion dates and company priorities.
• Coordinate temporary labor needs, with supervisor approval, to support project and clean-room activities.
• Work closely with the Corporate Operations Team, Management Team, and Manufacturing Plant to coordinate incoming components required to complete work orders.
• Partner with Quality Control to address work-order quality issues and ensure required standards are met.
• Organize and assemble all components and materials required for each work order.
• Oversee and approve case labels for items processed or reworked in the Projects Room.
• Conduct final inspections of completed work orders to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Manage and maintain label inventory and the Label Room, including receiving, counting, storage, usage, label transfers, and inventory updates.

Inventory

• Oversee and assist with updating work-order components and inventory records.
• Post production and all completed work orders in ABAS.
• Ensure inventory levels for all items in the Projects Room are accurate and properly maintained.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies as needed.

Leadership / Supervision

• Assign work orders and daily tasks to Projects Room staff based on priorities, workload, and employee capabilities.
• Provide information, guidance, and direction to warehouse associates to support successful job performance.
• Address employee concerns and grievances and work with the Warehouse Manager and Human Resources when additional assistance is needed.
• Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and support.
• Participate in employee performance evaluations as required.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, safety, quality, and productivity among Projects Room staff.

Communication

• Use effective and innovative approaches to problem-solving.
• Communicate project priorities, changes, issues, and expectations clearly with employees and management.
• Solicit input from team members and provide assistance as needed.
• Participate in warehouse leadership meetings and communicate relevant information to Projects Room personnel.
