Position Summary

The Operational Efficiency Specialist plays a vital role in improving productivity, performance, and process consistency across Factory6’s production and warehouse operations.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the Production Manager and Warehouse Supervisor, this role bridges management strategy and day-to-day execution. The OE Specialist partners with supervisors and teams to identify performance gaps, streamline workflows, and implement data-driven improvements that enhance output, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

This is a hands-on, floor-focused role designed to drive efficiency through collaboration, analysis, and proactive problem-solving — not through direct personnel management. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment and brings a strong understanding of lean practices, quality systems, and continuous improvement principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate daily with the Production Manager and Warehouse Supervisor to coordinate operations and meet targets for safety, quality, cost, and throughput.
  • Support and coach shift supervisors to enhance performance, communication, and efficiency.
  • Analyze production and warehouse data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Adjust production plans, material flow, and staffing allocations as needed to optimize output.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, and internal quality standards across all activities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and R&D teams to resolve issues and implement process improvements.
  • Lead or assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
  • Drive cost-control, waste-reduction, and process-improvement projects.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of best practices and SOPs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Food Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in production supervision, process improvement, or operations support within nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Proven success in improving production efficiency, implementing lean principles, or optimizing workflows.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of cGMP, FDA, HACCP, and manufacturing safety standards.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to use metrics and data for decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience in encapsulation, blending, or packaging operations.
  • Familiarity with production-tracking systems (e.g, Monday.com, Data Ninja).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Hourly Rate: $29.00 (can be adjusted DOE)
  • Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match)
  • PTO and paid holidays
