Annual Wage Range: $83,134.40 - $114,309.80

Other Compensation: Eligibility for the Short-Term Incentive program and other applicable bonuses

Job Description

Grace is seeking a Production Engineer to join our Production team.

This role reports to the Production Engineer Leader located at the Pasadena Catalyst Plant. The schedule is 9/80's, every other Friday off. Production reps will be on a rotating weekly on call list.

Accountable for Quality and Productivity in the Catalyst manufacturing units. The Production Engineer is a leader and process expert for their units. They are vital in maintaining a safe workspace and complying with environmental regulations. They are the first ones to troubleshoot any production issues or upset.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains over-all understanding of process capability & capacity
  • Reports Production metrics in meetings and on dashboards, with detailed downtime root causes, this includes monthly closing and forecasting.
  • Identifies and defines requirements for process improvement / productivity projects
  • Ensures usage of process related best practices, standards, and Critical to Quality (CTQ) plans.
  • Develops process control support to ensure process/quality variations are minimized.
  • Provides statistical data analysis for Process Control and RCAs
  • Conduct Management of Change (MOCs) and participates in PSSRs
  • Participate in OIR/incident investigations and Process Hazard analysis.
  • Prepares technical Daily Operating Instructions/work instructions for Operations
  • Leadership in the field by walking outdoors in units daily.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Previous experience as a Production or Process Engineer
  • 3+ years engineering experience with a chemical manufacturing plant

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a PSM facility
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Any Basic Process Control System Training (Delta V)

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
