    The pay for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $32.35 - 41.90 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

    We are looking for a 2nd Shift (2:00 PM -10:30 PM)  Production Foreman who will join our Scotts Miracle Gro team in Imlay City, MI!

    Position Summary:

    The Production Foreman is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work activities of up to 25 personnel, including Temporary Agency workers, engaged in production, equipment repair, and yard work. This position implements and monitors management programs related to safety, employee relations, production efficiencies, and inventory control.

    What you’ll do in this role:

    • Supervision: Accomplish manufacturing goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and recommending discipline when necessary; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

    • Workflow Management:Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, setting variables, observing control points, and ensuring personnel/resources are effectively allocated.

    • Production Planning:Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results via shift production summaries.

    • Operational Excellence: Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment/techniques. Assist in identifying and resolving minor equipment issues to minimize downtime.

    • Safety & Compliance:Maintain a safe and clean work environment by enforcing safety protocols, ensuring consistent use of PPE, and directing personnel on the proper use of equipment and resources.

    • Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by establishing personal networks and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.

    What you’ll need to be successful:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

    • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

    • Proven ability to supervise, coach, and direct the work of others.

    • Experience managing processes and implementing process improvements.

    • Ability to ensure housekeeping and organization standards are maintained.

    • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

    • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).

    • Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to a safe work environment.
