Production Glassblowing - Gaffer
Location: Cameron Park, CA (2BGlass Studio) Type: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) Pay: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour (Based on skill and speed)
The Role
2BGlass is seeking a dedicated, meticulous Production Glassblowing Gaffer to join our team in Cameron Park, CA. We are a high-volume, design-driven studio focused exclusively on production—we do not teach classes. Our primary output includes pumpkins, ornaments, cups, and acorns, all created using traditional glassblowing techniques.
We are looking for a true craftsman—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values repetition and refinement, and has an exacting eye for detail. The ideal candidate has experience in high-output professional studios where both speed and quality are non-negotiable.
At 2BGlass, we are deeply committed to craftsmanship, consistency, and continuous improvement. Every piece that leaves our studio reflects our brand, and we take that responsibility seriously.
The Expectations
High QC Standards We maintain a low “seconds” rate. This role requires someone who is naturally meticulous and takes pride in precision—someone who won’t settle for “good enough.”
Physical Resilience This is a physically demanding role. You will be on your feet on concrete for up to 8 hours per day, working in a hot shop environment. We blow glass year-round, including during Sacramento summers (100°F+).
The Early Shift During summer months, shifts may begin as early as 5:00 AM to beat the heat. Reliability, consistency, and a strong, no-complaints work ethic are essential. Shifts are typically 6:30am.
Media Presence As a studio with a strong and growing social media presence, you must be comfortable occasionally appearing in YouTube and Instagram content that showcases our process and team.
The Perks
We understand that great gaffers want more than just production—they want to grow, experiment, and stay connected to their craft. We offer benefits that support both your career and your creativity:
Studio Access Access to the studio during off-hours to work on your own projects and continue developing your skills, provided it does not interfere with production schedules.
Event Participation Be part of our major annual events, including the Handblown Glass Pumpkin Patch and Ornament Extravaganza—cornerstone moments for our business and community.
401(k) & PTO We invest in our team’s long-term stability and work-life balance.
5 Paid Sick Days
10 Paid Time Off Days
50% Off Inventory
First Dibs on Seconds
Potential for Annual Bonus with Exemplary Contribution to the Team
Potential for Additional Time Off During Shop Closures
401K + matching after one year of employment
Experience Previous experience in a professional, high-volume production glassblowing environment is required.
Technical Skill Must be proficient in:
Mold blowing creating consistent shapes
Making stems
Finishing ornament hoops with high precision and repeatability
Be able to handle a ten block of glass
Neck lining
Dropping color
Work Ethic & Attitude We’re looking for a reliable professional who:
Shows up on time, every time
Stays focused and efficient on the floor
Takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work
Works well within a small, collaborative team
Highly team oriented
Requirements A bench test will be required for all final candidates. Photos of work must be submitted with application for consideration. A video of you blowing glass must be submitted with application for consideration.
