    Production Group Lead

    Bedford, PA

    2nd shift: 3pm - 11pm (M-F)

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

    This position works under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager and/or Plant Manager and/or shift manufacturing supervisor as needed. Duties are performed without constant supervision. Assignments are made daily and results are reviewed daily.

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or general equivalent diploma
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Mfg. setting
    • Minimum of 3 years in all Braze or Machining dept. as team lead
    • Ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with leaders, manager, supervisors and coworkers
    • Forklift operator license required
    • Computer experience required (Microsoft products and SAP preferred)
    • People leadership skills
    • First aid / First responder training will be required for this role

    KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Safety: Perform pre-operation checks for machines. Perform safety inspections required for individual production machines and associated equipment. Perform review of operators safety checks and ensure overall department safety is always the first priority.
    • Production: Safely train, plan, direct, schedule, and check the work in the Braze & Machining departments on a daily basis.
    • Work with engineering, management, maintenance supervisor, vendors, and braze/machining employees to review and solve problems.
    • Monitor Braze/Machining orders to continually improve operations and quality of parts.
    • Maintain complete and accurate records.
    • Perform all other duties within areas of responsibility, when necessary.
    • Perform all required duties regarding inspections, quality audits and safety audits.
    • Problem solve all areas of Braze/Machining operations.
    • Quality: Inspect parts and ensure others inspect and produce parts to meet established ISO requirements.
    • Delivery: Process shop orders to meet established due dates.
    • Cost: Responsible for tracking and problem solving of the materials used and efficient equipment use to reduce cost.
    • Inventory: Responsible for cycle counts and management of WIP and components.
    • Lean: Participate in and utilize lean processes in daily duties.
    • TPM: Perform and ensure others perform daily required TPM on associate equipment.
    • 5S: Perform and ensure others perform daily required 5S review of areas.
    • Metrics: Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting established metrics.
    • Data: Accurate and timely recording of required data in SAP including operating entry (ie Production, quality etc).
