Description

Trident Seafoods is North America"s largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Summary:

The Production Lead assists in coordinating and monitoring activities of workers engaged in the production process by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions: (Responsibilities, Tasks, Supervisory Needs)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receives and answers questions from workers pertaining to production processes or equipment operation.

  • Monitors and expedites flow of materials within production area and makes adjustments when necessary.

  • Notifies maintenance workers of equipment malfunctions.

  • Tends or operates machines or equipment on production line to substitute for absentee workers.

  • Maintains product workflow records.

  • Assures compliance with all safety and production practices.

  • Trains workers in equipment operation and in processing and safety procedures.

  • Communicates with Supervisors, and other Lead personal problems or concerns.

  • Reviews workspace for cleanliness and safety, cleans equipment according to company standards.

  • Performs activities of workers supervised

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.

  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

Travel/On-Call Requirements: N/A

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $22 - $30.72 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications: (Education, Years of Experience, Certifications)

  • A minimum of 1 years' supervisory experience preferably in food production

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience in food production or seafood industry

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing or production environments, including safety, quality, and sanitation standards.

  • Ability to lead and support hourly production employees in a fastpaced setting.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to give clear direction and reinforce expectations.

  • Ability to monitor workflow, staffing, safety, and productivity on the production floor.

  • Skill in training employees and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production requirements.

  • Ability to document issues accurately and escalate concerns as needed.

  • Ability to work on the production floor for extended periods while maintaining focus on safety and quality.

  • Basic computer skills for timekeeping, reporting, or production documentation.

Work Environment:

This role works in a fastpaced food production environment that may be loud and involve varied temperatures. The Production Lead spends most of the shift on the production floor, standing and walking for extended periods while supporting safe, efficient operations. Use of required PPE and adherence to safety standards is essential.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is regularly required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.
