Description
The
Production Leader
is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure that production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role provides hands-on leadership by coordinating production activities, supporting and training employees, monitoring inventory, and maintaining efficient workflow across the production floor. The Production Leader serves as a key resource for team members, helping drive productivity while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Production Leader Responsibilities:
Lead daily production activities to ensure schedules and operational goals are met.
Communicate production priorities and coordinate with support departments and line personnel.
Verify materials and inventory are available for current and upcoming production orders.
Monitor staffing levels and allocate resources to maximize productivity.
Assist with onboarding, orientation, and continuous training of full-time and temporary employees.
Coach team members on performance expectations and communicate production concerns to supervisors.
Enforce company safety policies and promote a safe working environment.
Monitor SAP inventory transactions to ensure accurate material consumption and returns.
Maintain clean, organized production lines, equipment, and controlled work environments.
Coordinate machine changeovers and perform basic setup and troubleshooting of production equipment, including coding and labeling systems.
Ensure production supplies are properly stocked and available for daily operations.
Support product rework and reconditioning activities as needed.
Collaborate with Production Leaders, Supervisors, and cross-functional teams to achieve department goals.
Production Leader Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED with 3–5 years of manufacturing lead or supervisory experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree with 2–3 years of manufacturing experience.
Manufacturing leadership or lead experience.
Experience training production employees.
Experience using SAP or other ERP systems preferred.
Experience with inventory control and material transactions preferred.
Experience coordinating machine changeovers and basic equipment troubleshooting.
Ability to operate measuring equipment, calculators, and computers.
