Pay: 20/hr. to $21.21/HR
The position exists to support the operation of a production or filter line (maker or packer, including auxiliary equipment). Role includes basic adjustments, stocking up consumables, loading / unloading materials, cleaning of the line equipment and surrounding area to ensure smooth production as per the required output and product quality standards. As a service operator, you will assist the line operator in minor preventive maintenance activities and creation of standards for your equipment. Additionally, it is required to keep the equipment and workplace clean and orderly according to 5S3R standards.
Areas of Responsibility:
Support qualified operator of a machine type: Supporting the qualified machine operator, enabling timely production of product as well as the packaging of products according to client’s quality standards requirements at the lowest possible cost. Take ownership for the basic manual operations of the line such as loading, unloading of filters, palletizing & tobacco feeding etc (as applicable
Cleaning & Reporting: Supporting to execute timely cleaning and basic adjustments of the machine according to client’s standards. Correct reporting of wastes, machine downtimes, breakdowns and material usage if applicable.
Replenishment of consumables / materials: Using the right materials as per the product specifications and checking the materials at the beginning of each shift, as well as changing of product at the machine/line when required. This also includes the filling of the machine with material & replenishing consumables as require
Ensuring quality and working on Continuous Improvement: Using automation tools and visualization, identifying errors and faults which could impact the quality and functioning of the machines, escalating to the operator when required. Ensuring product adherence to the client’s quality standards and supporting the operator to identify any visual defects. Sorting rejected products and waste materials. Supporting the Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts of processes within Make Pack, as well as machines and systems used in production of semi-finished and finished products as per client’s standards. Ensures production area cleanliness and compliance with 5S3R standards. Ensures completeness and condition of own working tools. Support in companywide CI initiatives such as IWS - Integrated Work System
Safety: Adhering to operational, legal and official regulations on occupational safety and accident prevention. Understanding health and safety aspects of own work, identify potential hazards and always makes own workplace healthy and safe. Demonstrating safe behavior, reporting incidents and near misses to the supervisor, reporting identified unsafe conditions and behaviors and eliminating them within their own authority. Passes information on possible safety related issues during shift handover.
