    Production Maintenance Technician I

    Job Summary:

    The primary duties of this position will be performing set-ups, adjustments, changeovers, repairs, and trouble-shooting Production equipment. Performing routine and/or preventative maintenance including replacing worn components, lubrication, cleaning, lock-out/tag out are also a requirement.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Communicate with Shift Managers and/or Supervisors as to equipment needed repaired and priority to keep equipment running.
    • Review daily Work Order's (WO) prioritize and repair the equipment accordingly. Complete WO's by describing work done.
    • Makes Mechanical, Pneumatic and Electrical Repairs to all Decoration & Assembly Equipment as needed.
    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assembly and decoration equipment.
    • Ensure decorating and assembly equipment is free of safety hazard.
    • Able to change over assembly equipment.
    • Evaluate performance of existing decorating and assembly equipment and makes adjustments to maintain the highest rate of production and quality possible.
    • Responsible for communicating parts needing to be ordered to ensure we do not run out.
    • Leaves work areas neat and orderly.
    • Design and build additional auxiliary equipment.
    • Uses lathes and mills to make basic parts and fixtures.
    • Have basic electrical knowledge capable of making general repairs to electrical circuits and components and replacing electrical plugs, switches, and motors.

    • Committed to Continual Improvement to raise personal performance above the standard and to develop new methods to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and reduce customer complaints.
    • Maintain excellent attendance as defined in the Company's Attendance Policy.
    • Support, enforce and comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and quality.
    • Submit and assist in Kaizen Cards and Good Ideas to improve Safety, Quality and procedural operations that will benefit the Company.
    • Actively participate in meetings and discussions by providing suggestions for improvement, problem solving, and offering feedback.
    • Dresses for Safety with Long Pants and Steel Toed Shoes. Wears other PPE as required for the job.
    • Performs duties in a safe and orderly manner to eliminate work place injuries.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Air Compressor (start up and shut down)

    • Radio Etiquette
    • Arc Flash

    Education and Experience:

    • High school graduate or equivalent.
    • Demonstrate the knowledge of the proper use of power and hand tools.
    • Ability to work safely and with minimal supervision.
    • Preferred one (1) to two (2) years' experience working in a maintenance environment.
    • Have a strong mechanical and basic electrical knowledge.
    • Basic computer skills and be able to communicate with email and write procedures.
    • Skilled in use of lathe, mill, welding, and cutting tools preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting.
    • Exposure to dirt, grease, oil, plastic material lubricants, etc.
    • Lifting up to 45 pounds.
    • Frequent pulling, pushing, and lifting. Must wear steel-toed safety shoes.
