Overview:
Our client is seeking a Fabrication Operations Manager to lead sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing operations. This role will oversee daily production, personnel, equipment, quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing operations, including CNC laser/punching, press brake, welding, pretreatment, and powder coating.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules, resources, and workflow to meet customer deadlines and production goals.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop fabrication personnel while promoting accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
- Partner with Engineering and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
- Oversee equipment utilization, preventive maintenance, capital improvement recommendations, and workplace safety programs.
Education, Experience and Required Skills:
- 5+ years of sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing experience, with strong knowledge of fabrication processes and equipment.
- 3+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC fabrication, welding, finishing, and/or powder coating processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
