Overview: Seeking a Production/Manufacturing Manager role where I can leverage 5+ years of production leadership experience to drive operational excellence, develop high-performing teams, and deliver measurable improvements in safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly employees.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
- Support employee development through training, cross-training, and succession planning.
- Foster positive employee engagement and maintain effective communication throughout the workforce.
- Direct daily manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are achieved.
- Monitor production performance and implement actions to improve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze production metrics and identify opportunities to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Manage production priorities and respond effectively to changing business needs.
- Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, production, and safety issues.
- Support implementation of standard work, visual management, and process controls.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Participate in capital improvement projects and equipment installations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing supervisors and hourly employees within a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Experience in fiberglass, composites, plastics, chemical processing, or related industries preferred.
- Proven track record of improving safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to motivate teams and drive accountability.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze operational data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
